Purpose of Published Program Edits

Content Authors are able to make edits to previously published Programs.

What can you do when editing published Programs?

Editing published Programs allows Content Authors to make changes to their Programs, such as rearranging, adding, changing, or deleting modules while the published Program remains accessible. Once you're satisfied with the edits made, you can republish the Program to make the changes available to those who access the Program.

Open Published Programs

  1. Log in to polymer.gloo.us
  2. Switch to a Champion perspective by clicking on your profile image in the top right and clicking the Champion from the list
  3. Click Create from the top navigation
  4. Find the published Program you wish to edit and click the dropdown arrow next to "Preview" (to the right of the Program) and click Edit

Edit a Published Program

  1. Follow the steps above for Opening Published Programs
  2. Open the page of the Program you wish to edit
  3. Click the pencil icon in the top right corner of the preview area
  4. Reorganize, delete, edit, and add modules as needed
  5. Once you finish editing a page, you can open another page you want to edit and click the pencil icon on that page to begin editing

  • Any pages with pending edits will have an italicized title in the Content Outline.
  • All edits will be autosaved, so you can go to a different page or exit the Program authoring environment and come back later to continue editing the Program.
  • On the Content Management page, any Program with pending edits will have the status "published pending edits".
  • Edits will not be visible in the published Program until the Program is republished.

Revert Page Edits

  1. Click on the page name from the Content Outline
  2. Click the counterclockwise arrow icon in the top right corner of the preview area
  3. Click the Revert Changes button
    • This will only revert edits for that particular page.

What can't you do when editing published Programs?

While there are many alterations you can make to a Published Program, there are some changes that cannot be performed.

Rearrange Pages in a Published Program

Once a Program is Published, that is the order which the pages will remain. Be sure that you are confident in the order that your pages appear before Publishing!

Add or Delete Pages from a Published Program

While the modules within a Program can be added or deleted, the Pages themselves stay as-is. The page anatomy of a Program cannot be changed due to data integrity. Once a user complete a Program, that growth data is documented. Altering the framework of the Program would interfere with this data, so this functionality is not allowed.

Delete Pages from a Published Program

Due to data integrity, Programs cannot be deleted. Once a user completes a Program, their growth data is documented. Deleting a Program would interfere with this data, so this functionality is not allowed. If you do not wish to show a Program, you can Unpublish a Program. Unpublishing a Program will stop it from being displayed to users.
